RYAN ALEXANDER LEE

Ryan Alexander Lee is a concept artist with over a decade of experience in the fields of character design, illustration, and look development. He grew up in Minnesota but calls the San Francisco Bay Area his home. After receiving a degree in Sequential Art and Visual Storytelling from Savannah College of Art & Design (2008) he honed his craft at Concept Art Atelier run by Carl Dobsky and the Concept Artists of Massive Black. 

He has worked at the highest level for some of the biggest IPs in entertainment, including: LORD OF THE RINGS, MAGIC: THE GATHERING, STAR WARS, ASSASSIN’S CREED, FAR CRY, X-FILES, AND SPLINTER CELL. 

 As a concept artist and look dev artist, Ryan is best known for his work on Zendikar and Amonkhet Magic sets for Wizards of the Coast.  

In 2020-2022 Ryan successfully navigated his first graphic novel, Hessyst, launching late 2022.  He’s very proud he was able to pursue this lifelong dream. Ryan led the project from inception to completion to build out and develop a fictional universe. He assembled and successfully led a team of writers, editors, designers, and producers.

WIZARDS OF THE COAST

Card illustration for MAGIC: THE GATHERING. Imminent new release of 4 illustrations for a Secret Lair Artist Series. Invited to the HQ of Wizards of the Coast to work in-house with other artists devising the concepts.  Additional contributions include illustrations for ZENDIKAR, AMONKHET and INNISTRAD.
